Loureta Hayworth

Loureta Lamb Hayworth, 78, of Chattanooga, passed away Sunday, Dec. 3, 2017 at her home. She was born May 22, 1939 in North Carolina to the late Rev. Eugene and Sallie Bett Lamb. Mrs. Hayworth was a longtime member of Brainerd United Methodist Church and the Chancel Choir. She was a former president of the United Methodist Women and served in numerous capacities in the church. She was a member and past president of the East Brainerd Kiwanis Club. She also worked for many years at the Ronald McDonald House and was active in tutoring and supporting students at Woodmoore Elementary School. Her husband, Stephen Lee Hayworth, and brother, Ted Lamb, preceded her in death. Survivors include her daughter, Andrea Hayworth of Atlanta; sister, Rebecca (Marshall) Fletcher of Atlanta; sisters-in-law, Marydine Lamb of Asheville and Sara Davis of Charlotte; aunt, Julia Shearin of Wilson; and nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Dec. 7, 2017 at 1 p.m. at Brainerd United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Adam McKee officiating. Immediately following the services, the family will receive friends at a reception to be held in the McFerrin Chapel at Brainerd United Methodist Church. Interment will be in Asheboro, N.C. at Oaklawn Cemetery at a later date.
