Ruth Koger

ROSSVILLE — Ruth P. Koger, 83, went home to be with her Lord on Friday, Oct. 6, 2017, in a local hospital. Ruth was born in Chattanooga on Aug. 15, 1934, to the late Joseph and Ethel Rimasfski. She loved everyone and never met a stranger. Ruth was a member of the Chickamauga Church of Christ, retired from Galaxay Carpet Mill with many years of service, gave her time and donations to the Women’s Auxiliary, Paralyzed Veterans of America, and many other organizations. She was preceded in death by her husband, Isaac Koger; son, Isaac Koger Jr.; loving daughter, Brenda Lee Koger; brothers, Donald Reams, Frank Rimasfski, Alfred Rimasfski and Joe Rimasfski. Survivors include her daughters, Nora Jean Koger and Debbie Ingram; son, Phillip Wayne Koger Sr.; sisters, Maxine Warren, Eleanor Kane and Romell Geraldine Bearden; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Oct. 10, at 1 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel with Ministers Shane Robinson and C.G. Griffith officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, Oct. 9, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home & Crematory, at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
