FT. OGLETHORPE — Lance E. Scott, 64, of Ft. Oglethorpe went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Sept. 4, 2017 surrounded by his family. He was a lifelong resident of the Soddy Daisy and North Georgia area where he had attended Stuart Heights Baptist Church, Westside Baptist Church and currently a member of Parkway Baptist Church. He worked for ten years as an Electronics Tech with Southern Technologies. Lance loved music. He loved playing his guitar, he enjoyed learning to play many other instruments over the years, and he also enjoyed singing with the Chattanooga Barbershop Chorus. His passions in life were God, his wife, music, and watching Alabama football. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Evelyn Scott; maternal grandparents, George and Cordellia Roberts; and aunt, Joan Thatcher. Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Teresa Kirk Scott; two brothers, David Scott of Red Bank and George (Patricia) Scott of Chickamauga; aunt, Ann Short of Chattanooga; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. The family will receive friends Thursday from 3 p.m. until the funeral hour at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, located at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
