Harry Rogers

Harry Eugene Rogers, 72, of Ooltewah, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017, after a long and courageous battle with leukemia. Mr. Rogers was born and raised in Chattanooga and graduated from Ooltewah High School. He was a charter member of Bayside Baptist Church and attended there for many years. He later joined Silvedale Baptist Church where he served as an usher. He was a member of the Greg Bolton Small Group. Harry worked at National Posters for many years before retiring from Signs Graphics Printing in Dalton, Ga. After retirement, he worked as an affiliate broker for Sabrena Reality. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Ruth Rogers; brother, Arthur G. “Sonny” Rogers; and furbaby, Murphy. Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Ann Harris Rogers; daughters, Jill Burleson and Jennifer (Scott) Whitley; granddaughters, Lauren, Madelyn and Megan; sister, Pat Burrell; brother, Jerry Rogers; sister-in-law, Adeline Rogers; several nieces and nephews; and furbaby, Marci. The family will receive friends from 2 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2017, at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 6 p.m. with Rev. Mark Habbermas and the Honorable Frank Brown officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105) in honor of Eli Williams who is still fighting the battle.
