Bruce Pitt

Bruce W Pitt, 74, died on Monday, Aug. 13, 2018, in Chattanooga. Born in Logan, Iowa, Mr. Pitt came to the Tennessee Valley in the 1980s with his late wife, a Chattanooga native. Mr Pitt was a proud veteran of the Air Force. In addition to domestic posts, Mr Pitt served at the Panama Canal and in Vietnam, for which he was awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star Medal. After leaving the military, Mr Pitt was an educator, teaching English literature in several local colleges until his retirement. Survivors include his children, William (Kerri), Sean, and Bryn; grandchildren, Jackson and Everett; siblings, Gary Pitt and Lois (Bill) Sanders; and three beloved cats. There will be a private memorial service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans Charitable Service Trust.
