Edward Pomeroy

DECATUR — Edward Oliver Pomeroy Jr., 89, passed away Monday, Aug. 12, 2018, at Dekalb Medical Hillandale. A memorial service with military honors will be held in Chattanooga National Cemetery on Monday, Aug. 20, 2018, at 2:30 p.m. Mr. Pomeroy was born July 1, 1929, in Chattanooga, Tenn., to Edward Oliver Pomeroy Sr. and Lucille Delzell Pomeroy. He began his military service having first served in the United States Marine Corps. and later serving in the U.S. Air Force. He was retired from Western Union and was of the Baptist faith. He was a member of Walnut Grove Masonic Lodge #703, where he earned his 65th Year Apron for his membership. Mr. Pomeroy was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Alicia Pomeroy Timmons and his brother, Bill Pomeroy. Mr. Pomeroy is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Imogene H. Pomeroy; son, Edward Gregory Pomeroy; son, Tim A. Pomeroy; one grandson; three granddaughters; and three great-grandchildren.
