Herman Flerl

Herman Samuel Flerl of Soddy Daisy went peacefully home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Aug. 18, 2018. He was a loving husband, father, papaw, brother, and friend. He had a great sense of humor and had a smile on his face most of the time. He was a 1977 graduate of Hixson High School. He retired after 18 years from Farleys and Sathers where he was a supervisor. He was a faithful member and deacon of Middle Cross Baptist Church. He loved to sing, Fish, and was a big Tennessee Volunteer fan. One of the best times of his retirement was when he became a papaw and got to keep Charlotte from when she was 3 months old until about 3 years old. They had a very special bond. He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Linda Flerl, and by both sets of grandparents. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Sherry Flerl; his son, Scottie (Sydney) Flerl; his granddaughter, Charlotte Flerl; two brothers, Corky (Connie) Flerl, and Mike (Sherry) Flerl; sister, Michelle Flerl, and numerous other relatives. Visitation will be Sunday, Aug. 19, from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Monday, Aug. 20, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 12 noon in the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Bro. Eddie Ellison and Bro. Joseph Hedrick officiating. Burial will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
