Jean Demos

Jean Case Demos of Chattanooga passed away Aug. 16, 2018, at 90 years of age. Born March 3rd, 1928, in Bardwell, Kentucky, she graduated from Bardwell High School and moved to Chattanooga at 18 years old. Jean was a bookkeeper and then later became office manager of a medical practice. Jean was a long time member of First Centenary United Methodist Church and the Mohney Class. During her life, she has been a member of Friends of Special Children, Siskin Auxiliary, Hamilton County Medical Auxiliary, Riverview Garden Club, Bridge Club, and 9- and 18-hole groups at Chattanooga Golf and Country Club. She enjoyed playing golf, attending UT football games, playing cards, cooking for her family, and reading. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Dr. Robert Demos, her parents, William and Garnet Case, and her brother, Fred Case. She is survived by daughters Sharon Casteel, Ann (Charles) Mitchell, Dr. Jane (Mike) Coop, Memphis, Tenn., Judy Sawyer; her sisters Willene Boyd, Fran Cimarusti; her brothers Bill (Wanda) Case, and Ronnie (Nancy) Case. "Nonnie" is also survived by her grandchildren, Dr. Jay (Erin) Sizemore, Matt Sizemore, Taylor Sizemore, Laura (Brooks) Slayton, Huntsville, Ala., Charlotte (John) Randall, Tellico Plains, Tenn., Lauren Koehl, Atlanta, Ga., Warren Sawyer III, and Robert Demos III; her great grandchildren Austin Sizemore, Ansley Sizemore, Morgan Sizemore, Michael Sizemore, Denver Oliver, Izzy Oliver, John Randall Jr., and Robert Demos IV. Visitation will be at Chattanooga Funeral Home East Chapel, 404 South Moore Road from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 21st. Interment will be private at the National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Heart Association would be appreciated.
