Joe Falco

EVERGREEN, Co. — Joe C. Falco, age 52, passed away Aug. 14, 2018. Joe was a man loved by many and who loved deeply. A family man first, he gave all he had to his wife Christy and daughters Carolyn and Jacqueline. His infectious smile and integrity left a legacy of friendships across the globe. The son of Michael and Sofia Falco who had immigrated from Argentina, Joe was born in Amsterdam, New York. During his high school years, he moved to South Florida with the entire family and ultimately attended Barry University where he earned an undergraduate degree summa cum laude in finance and accounting. He then earned his MBA from Florida International University which he would apply to a diverse and rich career. Joe lived a life of hard work with an impeccable work ethic. His first job was at Coopers & Lybrand and he eventually landed at Costa Cruise Lines in Miami where he worked for 16 years. Joe rose in the ranks to Vice President of Sales Development and was instrumental in the company’s successful worldwide cruise business. As a handsome bachelor living in South Florida at the time, Joe’s single life came to a screeching halt when he met native Miamian Christy DuBois in 1993. They married in 1995 and began their married life together in Miami where their two daughters were born and where they made lifelong friendships. Joe’s career led them to Ft. Myers, Fla., to Chattanooga, Tenn. and finally to Denver. In each city, Joe made his mark as a financial wizard in the role of CFO in the real estate, senior living facilities and investment industries. And, he made deep and dear friendships. Joe wore his heart on his sleeve as a kind and giving person - he knew no strangers. Joe drew people into his passions for the University of Miami, the Miami Dolphins and the NFL, the NHL, Wilco, hiking, mountain/road biking and skiing. He was a man of strong political beliefs and was honored to serve in the Hillary Clinton presidential campaign in Jefferson County, Colorado. Everyone who knew Joe knew his true love was his family – his immediate and extended family, all of whom he was fiercely proud of and unabashedly, regularly boastful. Joe is survived by his loving and beautiful wife Christy, his smart, stunning and red-headed daughters Carolyn and Jacqueline. He also leaves behind his amazing big sister Angela M. (Falco) Peterson, and his big, little brother Michael G. Falco and his wife Andria. Joe was preceded in death by his father Michael and mother Sofia. Joe’s life journey will be honored in true “Joe Falco fashion” with an outdoor and casual-style Celebration of Life, Aug. 23, 2018, 4 p.m., Three Sisters Park, West Trailhead, 5136 South Le Masters Road, Evergreen, Co. 30357. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to his children’s college fund at https://www.gofundme.com/falco-family-fund.
