Evelyn Taylor

Evelyn Miller Taylor, 91, went home to Heaven on Monday, Feb. 12, 2018, from Hospice Care. Mrs. Taylor was born Dec. 29, 1926, and was a lifelong resident of Chattanooga. She retired from Memorial Hospital Credit Union after many years. She was a 1944 Tyner High School graduate, a faithful member of Tyner United Methodist Church and a Lady Shriner. She will be remembered as a very sociable, loving person, who enjoyed conversations and her grandchildren. Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Hubert “Boots” Taylor; and sons, Herby Taylor and Gary Taylor. Survivors include her son, Greg (Laura) Taylor; grandchildren, Matthew and Jessica Taylor; Jack Samples; special cousin, Betty Miller; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A graveside service will be conducted at noon on Thursday, Feb. 15, 2018, at Lakewood Memory Gardens, East, with Rev. Charlie Harrison officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2018, from 2 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
