Yvonne Haddock

ROSSVILLE — Yvonne Ewton Haddock, 87, of Rossville, Ga. passed away in her home on July 9, 2018, surrounded by her family. Yvonne was born June 5, 1931 in Dalton, Ga. to Clay and Maude (Hardin) Ewton. She was a graduate of Dalton High School. She married Roy Lee Haddock Aug. 10, 1950 and had celebrated their 65th anniversary before he passed in 2015. Upon retirement from TVA, she and Roy continued to travel as much as possible. She enjoyed seeing new places and spending time at the beach. Her favorite thing to do was to be with her children Valerie (Jim) Pomy and Melissa (Skip) Williams and her grandchildren. They include Brad (Jessica) Pomy, Matthew Pomy, Ben (Trey) Pomy, Hunter Williams, Kendall (Robbie) Robinson, Paige (Jason) Hawkins and Wyatt. She is also survived by her Sister in Laws Emma (Ernest) Combs and Belinda Haddock, along with several nieces and nephews. Everyone called her Grandmama, including all the friends of her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking and sharing recipes and was the heart of all the family gatherings. She also looked forward to finding new pictures on Facebook of the grandchildren. She walked on the treadmill 3 times a day and wore her Fitbit to track her steps. She kept up with all the lasted news on FOX while she played games on her iPad. We will miss her dearly but know that as she always said she’s “fine, fine, very fine.” Visitation will be at Heritage Funeral Home in Fort Oglethorpe, Ga from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday. A graveside service will be held for family at West Hill Cemetery on Friday, July 13. Special thanks to the staff at Erlanger Hospital and Hearth Hospice for the excellent care provided. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to American Diabetes Association or American Stroke Association.
