Christopher Williams (Bill) Caldwell, 92, of Lecanto, Fla., formerly of Lookout Mtn., Tenn. peacefully entered the presence of the Lord Jesus April 20, 2018. He was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Marjorie Karsies Caldwell in 2014, his son Billy Caldwell in 1967, his brother L. Hardwick Caldwell, Jr. in 2015, and his sister Eleanor Caldwell Bryan in 1990. Bill was born in Chattanooga on July 24,1925 to L. Hardwick Caldwell and Eleanor Williams Caldwell. He attended McCallie School and worked in his family's stove business, Tennessee Stove Works, before following God’s calling into Christian Radio and missions. Bill is survived by one sibling: Robert H. (Bob) Caldwell (93) of Lookout Mtn, Tenn. and five daughters and one son: Anne (Millard) Ramsey of Lookout Mtn, Tenn. and Margaret Caldwell of Chattanooga, Tenn.; Rebecca Adams of Canada; Crissy (Rich) Greete of Lecanto, Fla.; Robert (Jane) Caldwell, and Mary Lou Caldwell, also of Florida. He leaves behind 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. For more than 50 years, Bill worked in Christian radio. After graduating from Columbia Bible College he worked with stations in Africa, Europe, and South America, before settling in Florida. In 1961 he established the first Christian radio station on Florida's west coast, WGNB (now WKES). He started WMBW in Chattanooga and WHGN in Crystal River, Florida. He and his wife also established Keswick Christian School and Southern Keswick Bible Conference. Their desire was for children and adults to know Gods saving grace and the riches of God's Word. A memorial service will be held May 19, at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral home in Lecanto, Fla.
