Philip Michael Kazemersky departed this life on Sunday, May 13, 2018, at the age of 70. Philip was born in Derby, Conn., on Sept. 22, 1947, to Tanya and Eugene Kazemersky. He graduated from Ansonia public schools and Worchester Polytechnic Institute where he received a degree in electrical engineering. Philip continued his education by attending Ohio State where he received a masters is mathematics and a PhD in nuclear engineering. Philip moved to Tennessee to work for the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA). After 18 years working for TVA he retired to take a teaching position at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Philip was a tenured professor teaching in the engineering program until his retirement in 2017. Philip is survived by his wife, Judy and daughter, Dianne. He leaves behind three grandchildren, Alex, Violet and Talon; along with a brother, Paul and sister, Mary; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter, Kelly. Philip was loved and will be missed by all. Philip was an active member of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church. Visitation will be at Chattanooga Funeral Home, Highway 153, Hixson, TN 37343 from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, May 18. Funeral services will be help at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church is located at 722 Glenwood Drive, Chattanooga, TN, 37404.
