Herbert Lee Scott

Herb passed into God’s Kingdom on Feb. 4, 2019, at Alexian Health care on Signal Mountain as a result of a stroke suffered in August 2014. Herb served his country in the U.S. Army earning his wings with the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, N.C. He was a member of the former Signal Mountain Baptist Church and Selman Sunday school class. Herb's career was in textile manufacturing, retiring from Buster Brown Apparel as a vice-president of the hosiery division. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Anna Cavanaugh Scott; sister, Millidean Hill; brother, C.W. Scott and his much loved companion, Mollie. Born in Princeton, Ky., on Oct. 2, 1933, he is survived by his wife of 50+ years, Ms. Bettie Scott, who faithfully ministered to him through his journey. Also surviving Herb are his daughters, LeAnn (Dallas) Klineline and Shellie Scott; sisters, Gerelene (Jimmy) Anderson and Dorothy Martin; granddaughter, Lindsay Reed and twin great-grandsons, Liam and Jack Reed. There will be no visitation. Interment of ashes and those of his much loved pet Mollie will be at Blue Springs (Caldwell County) Cemetery in Princeton, Ky. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and The Point Church at Signal.
