FLAT ROCK — Gaynell Hicks Cooper, 76, died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2019, at her residence. Funeral services are Saturday at 11 a.m. CT at Corner Stone Funeral Chapel with Bro. Jim Hixson and Bro. Steve Wade officiating. Burial will follow in Overlook Cemetery. Family will receive friends Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. CT, Friday from noon to 8 p.m. CT and 8 a.m. until service time on Saturday. Survivors include husband of 58 years, Herman Cooper; daughter, Kim Stone, sister, Kim Stone; son, Mark Leon Cooper (Marla); grandchildren, Courtney Stone, Eric Holland (Emily); great-granddaughter, Olivia Claire Holland; several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Cooper was a retired teacher and member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin Miller "Buck" and Audrey Culpepper Hicks; granddaughter, Audrey Nicole Holland; sisters, Joyce Hicks and Martha Stephenson.
