SPRING CITY — Cora Ann Fugate, 80, died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2019, at the Golden Years Retirement Resort in Spring City. A lifetime resident of Rhea County, Cora Ann was the daughter of the late Arthur and Grace Phillips Wiggins. She was a graduate of Spring City High School, Bryan College and Tennessee Tech. Cora Ann was a teacher for the Rhea County Department of Education and retired in 1999 after teaching for 27 years. She was a member of the National Education Association. Cora Ann loved to sew, especially quilts. She was a member of the High Point Baptist Church. Cora Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Stewart Bruce Fugate and brother, Quinton Wiggins. Survivors include her sons, Felix (Sharon) Fugate, of Spring City and Ray (Shelley) Fugate, of Dayton; brother, Bill Wiggins of Spring City; sister, Thelma “Susie” Stalvey, of Spring City; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services are Friday, Jan. 11, 2019, at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow in the Spring City Cemetery.
