Janie Silverstein

Betty Jane Silverstein, 95, of Chattanooga, TN, passed away on Monday, January 14, 2019. Janie was a member of the Collegedale Community SDA Church, she was a devoted Christian who loved the Lord and was excited for His soon return. She was a dental assistant for 30 plus years, and a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, Dr. H.W. Silverstein; parents, Clarence and Marjorie Gibbs; and youngest son, Captain Roger Kent Silverstein. She is survived by her children, Dr. David R. Silverstein, Judy L. Shafer, Luellen Ann Gray; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 12 PM on Thursday, January 17 in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Jerry Arnold officiating. A private burial will take place at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Panama City, FL. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to a favorite local charity or the Collegedale Community SDA Church.
