Ruby Irving

Ruby Mae Buchanan Irving, 87, of Chattanooga, Tenn. passed away at a local facility on Jan. 24, 2019. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert and Bertha Buchanan, daughter, Dorothy (Poolie) Irving; two granddaughters, Monique Price and Breonna Irving; three brothers and two sisters. She was a member of New Zion Baptist Church where she was a member of the choir and she was member of the James Cleveland Gospel Music Workshop of America. Survivors include one sister, Dorothy Hammonds, two devoted nieces Brenda and Linda Hammonds, all of city; God-daughter, Jane Hutchinson, Frieson, Virginia; two devoted cousins, Jimmy Joe Earls and Tiffany Collins both of the city, other nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. She will be cremated and there will be no public services. The family is requesting no visits or phone calls at this time.
