FORT OGLETHORPE — Robert Paul Butler, 60, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2019. He had lived most of his life in Destin, Fla., before moving to the Chattanooga and North Georgia areas 6 years ago. He was a member of Dallas Bay Church and was an avid scuba diver. He was a licensed Merchant Marine Sea Captain and was the Owner & Operator of Aquanaut Scuba Center for more than 15 years. He enjoyed playing golf and appeared in the movie Jaws II. He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Pauline Butler. Survivors include his brother, Roland Butler and sister, Sharon McCombs. Celebration of Life services will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1, 2019, in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
