Eleanor McGonagil

Eleanor “Elly” Fitch McGonagil, 91, of Hixson, Tenn., was born in Chicago, Ill., and passed away on July 6, 2019. She was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” James McGonagil, Jr. She is survived by her sons, William James “Jay” (Diane) McGonagil, III of Milwaukee, John Fitch (Angela) McGonagil of Chattanooga and Donald Scott (Becky) McGonagil of Nashville; grandchildren, Dan (Becky) McGonagil, Carrie (Garrett) Sielaff, Kelly, Robbie, Steven, Sean, Shannon, Erin and Cassie McGonagil; great-grandchildren, Raegan, Isaac, Hudson, Kalib, Donavan, Haven, Dublin, Tyler and Aubrey; sister, Helen (Jack) Barrett; nephew, Greg (Joelle) Barrett and niece, Pamela Barrett. A Celebration of Life Service was held on Sunday, July 7, 2019, and a private interment will be held at Chattanooga National Cemetery. Donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl, Memphis, TN 38105. Arrangements are held by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, TN 37343.
