Tyronne Sims

Tyronne Sims, born Sept. 20, 1951, in Chattanooga, Tenn., to James and Bonciel Sims, departed this life on June 15, 2019. He was preceded in death by his father and an “angel baby” Marcus Snow Sims. Tyronne confessed to Christ and joined Rose of Sharon Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. He attended Riverside High School in Chattanooga, Tenn., but graduated from Erasmus High School in Brooklyn, N.Y. Later he became a member of the New Deal Masonic Lodge, Number 17. He was employed by Amtrak Railway in Manhattan, N.Y., where he retired after 40 years. He relocated to McDonough, Ga., where he resided until his death. He was married to Debbie Sims and to this union their son, Tyronne Darnell was born. Left to mourn his memory: his wife, Rosie Snow-Sims; his Mom, Bonciel Townes and Momma Rosie Lee Sims; his son, Tyronne; five brothers, Ervin (Cathy), James Jr. (Jean), Melvin (Virginia), Anthony (Martha), Vincent (Daphne) and one sister, Gail. He had three grandchildren, one great-granddaughter and a host of nieces, nephews and godchildren; two special brothers, Jerry Cox (Diane) and Kermit Cox (Sandra). A memorial service for Tyronne Sims will be held at Rose of Sharon Missionary Baptist Church on Saturday July 27, 2019, at 11 a.m. The Rev. Charles Moore will be officiating.
