Leota Hicks

LAFAYETTE — Leota Marie Cross Hicks, 88, passed away on her birthday, June 4, 2019. She had lived most of her life in the Ringgold and Lafayette area and her passions in life were catfishing, raising cockatiels and parrots, and going to yard sales and thrift stores. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Hicks; three brothers, William, Ezra, and Clifton Cross; and a sister, Emmy Cross. Survivors include her children, Wanda Althea Williams, Stanley Rayfield Hicks, Lizzie Robette “Robin” Hicks, Trina Denise Moore and Troy Gardner Hicks; grandchildren, Shane Merriman, Angela Merriman, Christopher Hicks, Jason Hicks, Melanie Moore, Travis Moore and Courtney Hicks Gaines; several great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Condolences may be shared at www.lane-southcrestchapel.com. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel. Interment will follow in the Hicks Family Cemetery in Lafayette, Ga. The family will receive friends Friday from 2 to 8 p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, located at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
