W.L. Cochran

W. L. (Dub) Cochran died Monday morning around 4 a.m. at home survived by his wife of 56 years, Janice (Jan) Williams Cochran. He was also survived by his daughter Courtney Cochran Reynolds; his brother, Kenneth Goy Cochran; his nephew Kurt Cochran; his niece, Karen Cochran Poxon. Dub grew up in Fort Worth Texas, went to high school at Arlington Heights, and attended Texas Christian University. He worked in sales for Fruehauf Trailer in Fort Worth and Container Corporation of America in Chattanooga and Greensboro, North Carolina. He later founded Southeastern Packaging, Inc. and Dundonald Marketing, Inc. He led these companies for forty years. Dub was a member of the Chattanooga Golf and Country Club for over forty years. He was a member and Commodore of the Loret Boating Club and a member of the Raquet Club. He also volunteered his services to the Chattanooga Swim League as a judge at swim meets. He loved to play golf and tennis but his first love was rodeo. He said he always rode bulls because the entry fee was lower and that was all he could afford (he was just sixteen and his parents wouldn’t give him permission). He would have loved everyone at his memorial service to wear boots and hats. The service is at Chattanooga Funeral Home North Chapel, Hixson Friday, June 7, at 1 p.m. Arrangements are under the care of the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
