Raymond Ribaric

Raymond Andrew Ribaric, 50, passed away June 2, 2019, surrounded by family at his residence in El Sobrante, CA. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Raymond was a longtime resident of Hixson, Tennessee. He graduated as a National Merit Semifinalist from Hixson High School in 1986, before accepting a scholarship to attend Auburn University. Always an academic, Raymond would go on to receive multiple degrees in Computer Science, Mathematics, and Finance from Auburn University, The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, and The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. While pursuing a doctorate degree, Raymond was recruited by George Lucas’ Industrial Light and Magic to work on Computer Generated Imagery for the Star Wars movies. Always an inspiration, he dropped everything to chase his dream job, relocating to the San Francisco Bay area in 2000. Raymond would go on to work as a Computer Visual Effects Artist for several other companies, such as Tippett Studio and Disney. His name will forever be found in the credits of numerous movies, such as Ted, The Bourne Supremacy, Twilight: Breaking Dawn – Part 2, and Captain America: Civil War. In addition to his devotion to career and lifelong learning, Raymond was an avid fan of several sports teams. He especially loved Cleveland Indians baseball, also enjoying national parks and travelling. Raymond is survived by his wife of 25 years, Michelle (Bell) Ribaric; parents, Ray and Andrea (Wasco) Ribaric; siblings Noreen (Ribaric) Walker and Robert Ribaric; nephews Ashton Ribaric and William Walker; nieces Alyson Walker and Sierra Mitchell; and sister-in-law Melanie (Hockenberry) Ribaric.
