Steven Lydell Johnson, 48, of Chattanooga, passed away Thursday, Feb. 21, 2019, in a local hospital. He graduated from Baylor School class of 1988 and continued his education at Tulane University. Steven was employed by Herman’s Restaurant. He was baptized into the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Pack Johnson, William Campbell, J.; grandmothers, Laura Stanley and Mamie Mason; father, Robert Johnson; uncles, Perry Mason and Larry Mason; aunts, Joyce Ervin, Sally Hill, and Louise Sears; cousin, William Campbell, IV. Survivors include his mother, Bonita Johnson; brothers, Tommy Johnson of Waco, Texas, Carlos Woodruff of Chattanooga; sisters, Erica (Galation) White, Angela (Avery) Hill, Donya Johnson, Tajuana Johnson, Lakisha Vinson, Shantell Thomas all of Chattanooga, Sharonda Sloss and Talitha Sloss, both of Louisville, Ky.; aunts, Carrie Mason of Louisville, Judy Johnson of Chattanooga, Sue Campbell of Chattanooga; uncles, Gerald Campbell of Chattanooga and Connie Mason of Louisville; special friends, Janet Houston, Barbara Marshall, Tonia Hudgins, and Mr. and Mrs. John Guthrie; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. Visitation will be today from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Saturday at 12 noon in the chapel. Burial in Highland Memorial Gardens.
