Peggy Carnes

Peggy JoAnn Carnes, 82 of Dayton, TN passed away Saturday March 23rd, 2019 in her home. Peggy was born in Chattanooga and graduated from Central High School in 1955. She loved to read, play piano, and most of all, spend time with her family. Peggy was a Girl Scout troop leader and a member of First Baptist Church of Dayton. Peggy was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Billy Eugene Carnes; son, Mark Carnes; parents, Oather and Eula Mae Blalock; and brothers, Harold, Chester, and J.D. Blalock. Survivors include her daughters, Sharon (Tom) Schrimpsher and Connie (Jeff) Morgan; brother, Don (Carol) Blalock; seven grandchildren: Cathy (Nick) Hester, Drew Carnes, Joseph Carnes, Zack Holton, Hunter Morgan, Cody Morgan, and Nathan Schrimpsher; three great-grandchildren: Nevaeh, Xylia, and Koen Hester; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held, Tuesday, March 26th at 12:30p.m. in the South Crest Chapel. Interment will follow in the Lakewood Memory Gardens South.
