LAFAYETTE — Edward Winston Asher, age 77, of LaFayette passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, March 27, 2019. He was a member of Linwood Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. He was preceded in death by his parents, Shelby and Jennie “Granny” Asher; sisters, Christine Jackson and Catherine Denison; brothers, Franklin, Owen, and Howard Asher; and daughter-in-law, Trecia Asher. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Maxine Asher of LaFayette; daughters, Kay (Jerry) Anderson, Jennifer (Daniel) Haney, and Tammy (Ed) Ingram, all of LaFayette; sons; Darrell (Kathy) Asher, Brent Asher, and Joel (Candice) Asher all of LaFayette; 12 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; sisters, Millie (Billy) Oliver and Gertrude (Kelly) Edwards; brothers, Vernon Asher and Richard (Denise) Asher; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, March 30, 2019 at Linwood Baptist Church with Dr. Jeff Alverson, Pastor Jon Alverson and Pastor Eddie Killian officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 6 – 9 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 11 a.m. until hour of service. Entombment at LaFayette Memory Gardens.
