Billie Wade

DALTON — Billie Smartt Wade, 83, passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2019. She was a member of Spring Creek Road Baptist Church. Billie was a graduate of Central High School. She went on to graduate from the Baroness Erlanger School of nursing in 1957 with a BSRN. She had worked at Children’s Hospital in the Neo Natal Unit. Following that she worked for the Walker County Health Department and retired as a School Nurse working for the Walker County School System. She was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin R. Wade. Survivors include two sons, James L. Wade of Rocky Face, Ga. and Rick A. Wade of Chattanooga, Tenn.; two grandchildren; one sister, Joanne Stevens of East Ridge, Tenn.; brother, Jack D. Smartt of Rock Spring, Ga.; Brother-in-law, Ron (Bea) Wade; several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Hamilton Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road, East Ridge, TN.
