April Joe O'Shields

FLINTSTONE — April O’Shields, 42, passed away Friday, May 10, 2019. She was a lifelong resident of North Georgia where she attended LFO High School class of 1995. April worked as a Manager at several McDonalds in the Tri-State area from 1993-2004 and worked as a Transplant Benefits Specialist at Blue Cross Blue Shield from 2005 to 2015. April attended Mission Glen Baptist Church and she was always known for her generous heart. April loved people, music, life and her dogs, Bear and Ringo. She had a wonderful sense of humor and she will dearly missed by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Peggy Chambers and an infant child. Survivors include her husband, Michael O’Shields; children, Elijah O’Shields of Flintstone, Ga., Hailey (Chris) Scott of Rossville, Ga., and Austin (Kathryn) Miller of Rock Spring, Ga.; sisters, Rita (Barry Dover) McDonald of East Ridge, Tenn. and Sherry (Lonnie) Watkins of Ft. Oglethorpe, Ga.; brother, Donny (Linda) Chambers of Rossville, Ga.; four grandchildren, Malachi, Collin, and Madison Miller and Olivia Scott; and several nieces and nephews. Condolences may be shared at lane-southcrestchapel.com. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel with Pastor Steve Wells and Jeff Clay officiating. Interment will follow in the Lakewood South Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 12 p.m. until the funeral hour at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, located at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
