Elbert Kilgore

Elbert Kilgore, 85, of Chattanooga, went to his heavenly home Tuesday, May 14, 2019. He was born Aug. 10, 1933, in Anniston, Ala., to the late Frank Vernon and Lydia Curvin Kilgore. He was the last of 10 children. He was preceded in death by his previous wife of 48 years, Betty Burgess Kilgore. Mr. Kilgore was a founding member of the Berean Baptist Church. The church met in his home during the early days of the ministry. He was a member and active volunteer at Woodland Park Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mildred B. “Millie” Kilgore; daughters, Brenda (Tim) Rollogas, Vicki K. (Tom) Harris, and Sheri Kilgore Saviano; 11 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the East Brainerd Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 15 and from 12 noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, May 16. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday in the East Brainerd Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
