Alma Morton

Alma Byrd Morton, 95, of Ringgold, passed away, on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at her home. Alma was born in Maryville, TN but lived in Chattanooga most of her life. She was a daughter of the late James and Laura Byrd. She retired from Vital Records Department, of the Health Department with twenty five years of service. She was of the Baptist faith and was a Charter member of Westside Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Beverly Daves, two sisters, and five brothers. Survivors include two brothers, Buddy Byrd, Lee (Dorothy) Byrd; son-in-law, Larry Daves; two grandsons, Richard (Deborah) Gossett, Michael (Genny) Gossett; three great grandchildren, Gavin Gossett, Cambria Gossett, Aiden Gossett, several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at Westside Baptist Church, 3399 Lakeview Dr., Rossville, GA. 30741 Interment will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 19th from 11:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the church prior to the funeral service with Reverend Gary Moore officiating. The family request no flowers.
