ROSSVILLE — Ronald Asbury Cooke, 71, of Rossville, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, October 9, 2019. He had lived in the Northwest Georgia area for most of his life and was a member of Victory Baptist Church. He was a retired Navy Veteran, having served during the Vietnam War and was also the Operations Manager at Murray Guard for many years. He went on to retire from Hayes State Prison as Lieutenant and enjoyed deer hunting and spending time with his family & friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Eva Lee Cooke; aunt, June Webb and 2 half-brothers, James Maples & Robert Moore. Survivors include his loving wife of more than 48 years, Betty Louise Gregory Cooke; son, Christopher Michael Cooke; 2 grandsons, James Gregory Cooke and Robert Aaron Cooke and numerous extended family & friends. Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon, Friday, October 11, 2019 in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel with Dr. Ernest Groce officiating. Burial will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday and prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.
