Ivan Mock

Ivan Eugene Mock, 86, of Ooltewah Tennessee, entered his heavenly body on Wednesday, September 18, 2019, in a local hospital. Ivan (Gene) was born in Indiana, in 1933 and lived most of his life in Miami, Florida. He was a talented and hardworking man that excelled in all areas of his life. He was discharged from the US Navy in 1954, when he joined the City of Miami Fire-Rescue in 1959. He retired in 1985 and moved to North Georgia and then settled in Kyles Ford, Tennessee. After an illness, he moved to Ooltewah, Tennessee in 2011, where he and his wife, Frances, lived with his son and daughter-in-law. He was loved by his family and will be greatly missed. Ivan was preceded in death by his mother and father, Clarence and Mary Kay Mock, and his sister Anna Mae Litton. Survivors include his loving wife of 51 years, Frances Scruggs Mock. One daughter, Patty Mock Holt, of Sparks GA. and two sons, Robert (Judy) Mock of Ooltewah Tennessee and Gary Mock of Raiford, Florida; two sisters, Phyllis Groseclose, Ocala, Florida and Kathryn Larkin of Oklahoma; one brother, Clarence Dale Mock (Chris) of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; two step-sons, Donald Baucom of Inverness, Florida and George (Stephanie) Lukaszewicz of Safety Harbor, Florida and one step-daughter, Brenda Sotis of Inverness, Florida; twelve grandchildren, Wendy (Tom) Benka, Rebecca Mock, Michele Waters, Lisa (Damon) Talley, Megahan (Bryan) Murdock, Angie Hartley, Nathan Rodriguez, Shane Rodriguez, Sharona Bohac, Tiffany (Roger) Baker, Steven (Tarah) Mock, Christopher Mock. Twenty one great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 2:30 P.M. Friday, October 18th, 2019, at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors. Dan Woughter will be presiding over the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Arrangements are by the Cremation Center of Chattanooga, 1345 Hickory Valley Rd. (423) 362-5999.
