Marshene Rucinski

Marshene Whaley Rucinski, 66, of Hixson, passed away on Oct. 18, 2019. Marshene was born in Chattanooga, Tenn., and was a 1971 graduate of Hixson High School. She was a member of East Ridge SDA. She had an immense love for children, working in childcare in many capacities over many years. She was a substitute for HCDE prior to retirement. Marshene also enjoyed her time spent working for Chattanooga Neighborhood Enterprise. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marshall and Mary Whaley. Marshene is survived by her daughters, Heather (Steve) Penney and Lindsey (Matthew) Jones both of Chattanooga; granddaughter, Lauren McRoy; sisters, Marsha (Jimmy) French of Franklin, Tenn., and Susan Ragland of Springfield, Ga. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 21, 2019, and 12 to 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2019, at Hamilton Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2019, at Hamilton Funeral Home Chapel.
