Edna Wheeler

Clara Edna Wheeler, 92, of Hixson, passed away on Sunday, September 8, 2019. She was born in Fyffe, Alabama and lived in Hixson most of her life. She was a member of Calvary Independent Baptist Church. Edna loved to work in her garden and fish. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Lyman Hughes and Wayne Wheeler; brothers, Alvin Williams and Bunk Williams; sisters, Dessie Bolden and Opal Lindsey and daughter-in-law, Linda Hughes. Survivors are her son, Gary Hughes; granddaughter, Buffy Hughes; great granddaughter, Kylee Hughes and many nieces and nephews. Services will be on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Don Kelley officiating. Burial will follow at Warrens Cemetery in Rainsville, Alabama. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Alhambra Shrine for the transportation fund.
