Roy Lee Roach, Jr. was received into the glorious presence of the Lord Jesus Christ Monday, September 16, 2019. Born March 26, 1937 in Greenville, GA, to Roy, Sr. and Elizabeth Roach, Roy moved to Chattanooga at age 12 and was a lifelong resident. He was an alumnus of Chattanooga City High School where he was a member of the band, softball and swimming teams. Roy was a member of Brainerd Hills Baptist Church and the Lighthouse Sunday School Class. Roy was a skilled craftsman and member of Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 43 his entire working life. In 1979 Roy started his own business, Allied Mechanical Contractors, and at one time was recognized by the Chattanooga Chamber as Small Business of the Year. Roy successfully ran his business until his retirement in 1999. At a young age Roy professed Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior and answered the call of Jesus to “follow me”. His commitment to Jesus set the tone for the rest of Roy’s life which can best be summed up as a life lived by John 13:35, “by this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another”. Roy consistently demonstrated his love by his enthusiastic commitment to his family, friends, church and employees. Roy generously and lovingly responded in times of need. Roy was preceded in death by his brother, Bill Roach and sister, Betty Ann Cooper; grandsons, Michael Greeson and Lee Greeson. Roy is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Patricia Henegar Roach; children, Joe (Teresa) Roach, Diane (Jimmy) Lovern, Dale (Patti) Roach and Melissa Roach, grandchildren: Jody (Jennifer) Roach, Josh (Amy) Roach, Mary Ann (Matt) Saeger, Jay Lovern, Elizabeth Dedenbach, Dexter Kapur, Taylor Roach and Alauna Roach, several great-grandchildren, one great, great grandson; nieces and nephews; brother, Robert Roach and sister, Mary Ellen Graham. Funeral services will be conducted at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 S. Moore Rd., Chattanooga, TN 37412, on Thursday September 19, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends beginning at 12:00 p.m. until the service begins. He will be laid to rest in the Lakewood Memorial Gardens East. The family would like to thank the caregivers that lovingly cared for Roy during his last days.
