Virginia Corey

Virginia Cullom Corey died September 18, 2019 at the age of 92. A lifelong resident of Chattanooga, Mrs. Corey was graduated from Chattanooga High School, attended Brenau College in Gainesville, GA and graduated from the University of Chattanooga. She was a member of First Centenary United Methodist Church in Chattanooga and a communicant of The Church of The Good Shepherd, Episcopal, of Lookout Mountain. Mrs. Corey was preceded in death by her husband Dr. James Hicks Corey, Jr.; parents, Lellie Adkerson and Henry Martin Cullom; brothers , Henry John and Randall Cullom and grandson; Henry Allen Corey, Jr. She is survived by her children; James Hicks Corey, III Greenville, SC, Henry Allen Corey and Maddin, Chattanooga, John Patterson Corey and Mary Elizabeth, Virfinia Ann Corey Manson and Tim of Lookout Mountain; grandchildren; Merritt Corey, Meredith and Barrett Lee, Kate Corey, Maggie Corey, Lizzie and Bobbie Gendimenico, Tim and Schuyler Manson, Corey and Ellen Manson; great grand-children; Jack Corey, Barrett, LucyJames and Maddin Lee, Beatrice and Rosalie Manson and her sister Ann Cullom Boyd of Chattanooga and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 3:00-4:00 P.M. at First Centenary United Methodist Church with a graveside service at 4:30 P.M. at Forest Hills Cemetery on Saturday, September 21, 2019. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a cause you hold dear. As for me I know that my redeemer lives and that at last he will stand upon the earth. After my awakening, he will raise me up; and in my body I shall see God. I myself shall see, and my eyes behold him who is my friend and not a stranger.
