Dorothy Thurman

Dorothy Jane Yantis Thurman, 95, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 7, 2020.

Dorothy retired from TVA; she was a longtime member of Brainerd Hills Baptist Church. She loved her Lord, her family, traveling, and gardening.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, Charles W. Thurman; and brother, Greg Yantis.

She is survived by her daughters, Sandy (Benny) Collins, Brenda (Larry) Sheeley; sister, Betty Southerland; grandchildren, Karen Adkins, Shelley (Steve) James, Joy WIllson, Lawrence (Betsy) Sheeley, Sydney Sheeley; and many great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Brainerd Hills Baptist Church Beyond Measure Fund.

A private family memorial service will be held at 1 PM on Friday, April 10 in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Richard Mason officiating. Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
