Frances Weaver

RINGGOLD — Frances Lorena Scogin Weaver, age 104, of Ringgold passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2020. She was a member of Cloud Springs Baptist Church and the Steadfast Sunday School Class. She was a longtime attendant to the Ringgold Senior Center affectionately known as “Sweet Pea”. She was an avid reader and very talented in literature. She was the valedictorian of her graduating class in Bridgeport, AL. She loved gardening and had a strong appreciation for nature. She had a strong faith in God and lived a righteous example and was a blessing to all that knew her.

She was predeceased by her husband, John A. Weaver, Sr. and two younger children, Frances Wood and Gerald Weaver along with six siblings.

She was survived by her sons, John A. (Linda E.) Weaver, Jr., Paul A. (Linda G.) Weaver; daughters, Bettye (Richard) Wilkinson, Nancy McWhorter and Claudia (Don) Porter; two sisters, Nell Hinaman and Joyce Denny, also many grandchildren and great-grandchildren and mom’s daughter-in-law, Linda Ray Weaver, who was a special caregiver and friend for many years.

The family will receive friends on Friday, February 28 from 11a.m. to 1p.m. at Cloud Springs Baptist Church. Pastors Bill Gardner, John Carter and Don Porter will conduct the funeral at 1p.m. in the church.

Interment will follow in Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.
