James Mashburn

James Ray Mashburn, 74, of Chattanooga, passed away Monday, February 24, 2020 at Hospice of Chattanooga Care Center. Born in Jacksonville, Alabama to the late Edward James and Bonnie June Chambers Mashburn. He served his country in the United States Army and was combat wounded in Vietnam for which he was awarded the Purple Heart and he was of the Church of God faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sheridan Stout.

Survivors include Charlotte Little, his children; Troy Bruce, Gary(Kristie) Bruce , Tracy Bruce, and Rene Mashburn Williams all of Cleveland; Grandchildren, Brandon Williams, Holly Bruce, Cierra Brooks, and Justin Bruce; Great-grandchildren, Camden Williams, Laurelyn Williams, Myleigh Grace Deal , Saylo Rae Dillon; and nieces Misty Purvis and Michelle Arnette along with several extended family members and friends.

A Celebration of Life and Home going for James Ray Mashburn will be conducted at 12 Noon Friday, February 28, 2020 from the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Joe Jack officiating.

Interment will be at 2p.m. Friday at Chattanooga National Cemetery with Brandon Williams, Justin Bruce, Joey Vonnosh, Michael Brandt, Robert Barber, and Greg Wilson serving as pallbearers. Military Honors as well as a dove release ceremony and playing of bagpipes will conclude the service.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.
