RINGGOLD - Jimmie Edward Stewart Sr., 81, passed away Thursday, July 2, 2020. A native of Decatur, Georgia, he has lived in the Ringgold area for the past 14 years and was formerly of Resaca, Georgia. He was a former employee of AG Systems and a member of Clearview Baptist Church. Jimmie was a cattle and chicken farmer, raised Arabian Horses, loved bluegrass music and was an avid reader. He is preceded in death by his son, Jimmy Stewart Jr.; and parents, Thomas and Rheba Crumbley Stewart. He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Clark Stewart of Ringgold, GA.; two sons, Thomas Stewart and Barry Stewart both of Covington, GA.; four grandchildren, Amy Hendrix, Brandon Stewart, Brooke Stewart and Kimberly Stewart; three great grandchildren, Joseph McClendon, Joshua McClendon and Samuel Hendrix; and one great great grandson, Jackson Stewart. Graveside services will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday, July 11, 2020 at Anderson Cemetery with Pastor Herman Kapherr officiating. The family will receive friends 9:00 -9:45 A.M.
