Dorothy Strickland

LAFAYETTE - Dorothy “Dot” Strickland, age 91, passed away Monday, June 1, 2020.

She attended Yates Spring Full Gospel Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Strickland; grandsons, Joey Troupe and Kevin Derek Coker; parents, John David Watts and Martha “Mattie” Watts; siblings, Grace Bradley, Dora Hughes, Cecil Watts, and Bud Watts.

She is survived by her daughters, Barbara (Wayne) Jackson and Jan (Warren) Coker; granddaughter, Brittany (Rick) Allen; great grandchildren, Dylan Cook, Kaylee Allen, and Easton Allen; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 3, 2020 in the Wilbanks Memorial Chapel with Pastors Tim Dennison and David Brown officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service after 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Interment at LaFayette City Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Bruce Coker, Richard Sosebee, Terry Hughes, Joey Bradford, Mike Thompson, and Ronnie Harris.

Honorary pallbearers are Micah Benefield, Levi Benefield, Tommy Hise, and Dylan Cook.

Arrangements are by Wallis-Wilbanks Funeral Home, LaFayette.
