Wanda Blackwell

BRIDGEPORT - Wanda Faye Long Blackwell was born on August 13, 1952 and Died May 31, 2020. She was preceded in death by her parents W.O. and Elizabeth Sampley Long and sister Virginia (Archie) Gilliam. She is survived by her husband Richard Blackwell; her children Richmond (Lindsay) Blackwell and Katy Blackwell. Grandchildren Meagan, Rebecca, and Wesley Blackwell; Sisters Mary (Danny) Vaughn and Brenda Long.

Wanda was born in Bridgeport, Alabama where she lived her entire life. She was a devoted wife and mother and enjoyed spending time with her family and singing at her church. She had a great sense of humor. Wanda and Richard were married in 1976 and shared 44 years of marriage. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed cooking for big family events. She loved her family and friends dearly.

Funeral will be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at 2 PM at Green’s Chapel Cemetery, with Rainsville Funeral Home, Inc. directing,www.rainsvillefunerlahome.com.
