Esther Dunn

RINGGOLD - Esther Irene Venerable Dunn, 78, passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at her residence. A native of Scottsboro, Alabama, she has lived in the Chattanooga, Ringgold area for the past 57 years. She was a member of Woodstation United Methodist Church, and was a retired Hospice Nurse, receiving her degree at age 41 after raising her three children. Esther was an avid reader, loved to travel and had a green thumb when it came to gardening. She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Goodman and Addie Mae Parton Venerable; son Michael Earl Smith; two brothers, William E. “Bill” Venerable, Sr.; and W.T. “Buddy” Venerable; and seven sisters, Inez Wells, Annie Mae Wilson, Ruth Duncan, Georgie Long, Avis Reeves, Evie Lee Rogers and Rachel Quillian. She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Joe Lindsey Dunn of Ringgold, GA.; two daughters, Renee (Greg) Spann of Cave City, KY., and Cindy (Steve) Myers of Nicholson, GA.; sister, Lola Faye Bryant of Ider, AL.; eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren; and lots of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Thursday, June 25, 2020 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Sharon L. Coley officiating. Interment will follow at Woodstation Cemetery. The family will receive friends 11:00 A.M. – 2:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
