Iva Moore

Our sister, Iva Lynn Moore age 66, passed away on February 27th after losing her brave battle with illness. She was born on September 25, 1953 in Cleveland, TN and during her later years was a resident of Charleston, TN. She was a graduate of Charleston High School and Jay Rogers’ School of Cosmetology.

Iva was often recognized through praise and awards for her talents as a professional hairstylist, which she practiced for more than 29 years and her gift as a songstress, which she shared with her home church, Watson Chapel A.M.E. Zion for many years.

Iva was proceeded in death by her father and mother, Wilbur Moore Jr. and Lillian O. Moore both of Charleston, TN.

She leaves to mourn her passing, six brothers and sisters, Patricia Morris of Cleveland, TN, Jeannette Bayless, Elizabeth Brice both of Charleston, TN, Wilbur (Peggy) Moore III of Riceville, TN, Andrew (Betty) Moore of Charleston, TN and Rick (Benita) Moore Sr. of Ooltewah, TN. Special friends, Ms. Linda Mays and Mr. Martin Ribbon both of Chattanooga and a multitude of nephews, nieces and numerous other family members and friends. Receiving of family and friends will be hosted at Iva’s sister Jeannette Bayless’ home located at 315 Scott St. NE, Charleston, TN 37310 in the days prior to Iva’s service.

The Celebration of Iva’s life will be held Saturday, March 7, 2020 at 2:00 at Watson Chapel AME Zion Church, 311 Market St NE, Charleston, TN 37310, with the Reverend Joseph Holmes officiating. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service from 1:00-2:00.
