Rita Johnson

Rita Joyce Johnson, of Soddy-Daisy, Tenn., passed away March 28, 2020.

Rita was born Sept. 24, 1946 in North Chattanooga. She was the daughter of the late Earnest R. and Louise Coley. Also preceding her in death was her husband, Ronnie Johnson and an infant son.

Rita and her husband, Ronnie, were founders and owners of “The Outdoorsman News”

magazine. Rita was a member of the Easter Star Organization.

Survivors are her daughters, Pamela (Randy) Massingill of Chattanooga, TN, Allison Huckabee of Milton, Florida; son John Mahoney; granddaughter, Amanda Smith; grandsons, Taylor and Austin Massingill; seven great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Monday, March 30, 2020 in Hamilton Memorial

Gardens with Rev. Steve Reed officiating.

Pallbearers will be John Mahoney, Taylor Massingill, Austin Massingill, Robert

Krumholz, James Berry and Kenneth Woodward. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert “Bob” Puckett, Allen Lewis, Howard Williams, Tommy Fawcet and John Swalows.

If you wish to pay your respects by attending the graveside service, it is requested that

you remain in your car to comply with the regulations mandated by our Federal

Government and the CDC.
