Frances Danell Fortson Love, 69, of Chattanooga, passed away Sunday, May 17, 2020 in a local hospital. She was a 1968 graduate of Riverside High School. She attended Tennessee State University and received her Associate of Science degree in 2001 from Chattanooga State Community College. Frances was a member of Greater Tucker Baptist Church. She was a member of the Chattanooga Citizens Police Academy. Frances was employed by the Chattanooga Housing Authority as a Property Manager for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob “Jake” and Louise Fortson; grandparents, Reverend John and Louise Buckner. Survivors include her son, Eric Cross; grandchildren, Valerie (Patrick) Smiley, Markese Cross, all of Chattanooga, and Alina Cross of Louisville, KY; sister, Florence Nash; nephew, Jonathan Nash, both of Chattanooga; other relatives and friends. Frances will lie-in-state on Saturday from 9-10:30 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home with the family service to follow at 11 a.m. with Pastor Gary Hathaway as the eulogist. Burial in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.
