Steve Sullivan

RINGGOLD - James Stevens Sullivan, Jr., 75, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, October 22, 2020. Born to the late James Stevens Sullivan, Sr. and Virginia Martin Sullivan in Clinton, Oklahoma, he had been a resident of Ringgold for the past 45 years. Mr. Sullivan pastored Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church for 10 years then started Grace Church of Catoosa County where he pastored for 32 years. He was President Emeritus at Covington Theological Seminary where he had taught for over 35 years. He was Administrator at Open Arms Care for 10 years in Ooltewah, TN.

Pastor Steve was a man of the Gospel and who served the Lord sacrificially and faithfully with His wife Glenda for 45 years. Their ministry in Catoosa County and beyond greatly impacted all with whom they came in contact. His passion for the Word of God was known by all who loved him and called him Pastor or friend. He loved spending time with his kids and grandkids and enjoyed watching Alabama football.

Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Glenda Sullivan; sons, James “Trey” Sullivan, III and Bret (Faith) Sullivan; daughter, Paige (Bradley) Moore; sisters, Sandy (Jerry) DeBerry and Donna (Wayne) Patterson; and grandchildren, Noelle, Noah and Natalie Sullivan and Weston Jase Moore.

A private graveside service will be held at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Bret Sullivan officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Denise McNish Fund at Grace Church of Catoosa.

A celebration of life service will be held at 7 PM Monday at Rock Bridge Community Church in Ringgold with Pastor Bret Sullivan officiating with the family receiving friends from 2-6 PM on Monday at the church.
