Freddie Edward Simmons

SEQUATCHIE - Freddie ”James” Simmons, Jr., 78, left his earthly family and was received into the arms of his heavenly father on Thursday, September 3, 2020.

Freddie “James” was born in Jasper, Tennessee on May 14, 1942 to Freddie E. Simmons and Loretta Rice Simmons.

James managed several Kayo Service stations throughout Tennessee and Alabama. He retired from Niagara Steel as a supervisor after 19 years of service.

James was preceded in death by his father, Freddie E. Simmons and mother, Loretta Simmons; brothers, Alvin Simmons, Willian “Billy” Simmons and Ray Simmons.

He is survived by his sons, Darrell Simmons, of Hollywood, Alabama, Mike (Mary) Simmons, of Sequatchie, Tennessee, Tim ( Robin) Simmons, of Hollywood, Alabama; grandchildren, Ethan (Hannah) Simmons, of Jasper, TN, Tarin Simmons, of Stevenson, Alabama, Taylor (Jesse) Stephens, of Stevenson, Alabama, Zachary (Haley) Simmons, Hollywood, Alabama, Emily (Brodey) Pemberton, of Whitwell, TN, Mary McBryar, of Hollywood, Alabama, Amber Simmons, of Lake Okeechobee, Fla. Six great -grandchildren; two sisters, Lois Neal, of Nashville, TN, Linda Harris, of Jasper, TN, sister in law, Roxanne Simmons, of Sequatchie, TN and Valeria Simmons, of Jasper, TN; several nieces and nephews, special friends, Ronnie and Vicki Nunley and a host of other family and friends.

There will be a private memorial service held at a later date.
