Nelda McCarter

Nelda Vian McCarter, age 87, passed away on Sept. 13, 2020, at her home with her family by her side. She was born Oct. 5, 1932, in McDonald, TN to Joe F. and Euline Schabell.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, William E. McCarter; siblings, Howard Schabell, Franklin Schabell and Nada Lea Lauderback; grandson, Jacob Woodby.

Nelda was an intelligent woman with immense inner strength, resilience, and an unshakable faith, that lived to make the lives of everyone around her better. Her Infectious laughter and smile will be missed dearly everyday.

She is survived by daughter, Mary Renee Woodby; son, Nathan McCarter; brother, Grady Schabell and his wife, Betty Nell; brother-in-law, Jack McCarter; granddaughter, Jessica Woodby-Denema and her husband, Peter; great-grandson, Job Woodby.

A graveside service was held Wednesday, September 16th at 3:30 p.m. in Lee Cemetery in McDonald, TN.
